Architecture Photography
This photograph highlights the
academic building of the University of
Dentistry and Medicine in New
Brunswick, NJ. The key to architecture
photography is to maintain parallel
vertical lines so the building does not
appear to be falling backwards. In the
past this could only be accomplished
using a 4x5 or larger format camera
which had the ability to tilt the
front and back of the camera. This
image was created using a 35mm
digital format camera and the tilting
was corrected using Photoshop. I have
been known to super-impose clouds in
the sky, but that gets to be a little too
much.
