Acrylic Sculpture

Acrylics are very difficult to light because if lighting is done in a traditional manner the form and detail of the sculpture does not appear. Backlighting with patches of front lighting was used to highlight the form and detail of the sculpture. In a sense, the lighting must come from within the sculpture. This photograph was created for sculptor Paula Slater who created a body of work called Royal Faerie Gallery.
